The story

Ruth is an architect with more than ten years in architecture studios, on residential and commercial projects in Honduras, the United States and Canada. Today she makes plans, renders and video walkthroughs for real estate, offices and homes. She needed a site that lets that work speak first, in Spanish and in English.

Who it's for

Ruth's visitors are architects, developers and competition juries. They judge renders in seconds, so the site has to put one strong image in front of them fast, let them browse a short, curated set of projects, and make starting a project the obvious next step.

How we told it

Scroll position is the time of day.

A day of light. Architectural visualization is the craft of placing light, so the site is a sun study, the kind an architect runs in Revit or SketchUp. Scrolling moves the time of day in Tegucigalpa, and the sun's real altitude and azimuth set the colour of the wall, the window light falling across the page and a small readout in the corner. It is dawn at the top, noon over the work and blue hour in the footer, where the only warm thing left is the button to start a project.

Signature moments

The window opens

Shutters part as the page loads. Scrolling widens the opening to the full screen and the photo of Ruth on a rooftop settles to scale, until you are standing beside her.

Projects are rooms

Each project sits behind a doorway that opens as it reaches you. Choosing one grows that door into the project's opening image.

The render pass

The first time a project image appears, it finishes like a 3D renderer: a noisy preview, then tiles resolving in a spiral from the centre, with a percentage readout. It runs once, over the real image.

Line to light

The process page follows Ruth's own pipeline: a plan plots behind a pen, the 3D plan tilts up off the wall, the render is sketched in pencil and then lit, and a real walkthrough plays.

Pages change like weather

Moving between pages dims the old one like a passing cloud and lifts the new one in, while the header stays where it is.
